How To Unlock iPhone OS 3.0


Apple yesterday released iPhone OS 3.0 which is now available for download and installation via iTunes . Jailbroken iPhone using previous firmware will not be able to update to OS 3.0 with out having proper jailbreak/unlock tools .iPhone 3G unlock tool yellosn0w now has been renamed to Ultrasn0w . iPhone dev team released a video confirming iPhone OS 3.0 unlock with Ultrasn0w and they will be releasing it the tool on this Friday. We need to jailbreak iPhone before unlocking with Ultrasn0w .iPhone dev team earlier said that they would release jailbreak tools after official iPhone 3.0 release. And as firmware 3.0 is already released ,we expect a compatible QuickPWN or Pwnagetool tools in 2-3 days . After jailbreaking iPhone OS 3.0 we will be able to unlock iPhone 3G with Ultrasn0w . Many developers had jailbroken iPhone 3G with OS 3.0 for installing unofficial app testing . But for unlocking we need to downloadyellowsn0w or Ultrasn0w which will be available tomorrow .


What is the difference between jailbreak and unlock :

There are so many unofficial test applications which are not available in iPhone app store and which are not supported on iPhone 3G . To unlock iPhone 3G we need to install unverified tools like Ultrasn0w .And for installing unofficial apps ,first we need to jailbreak iphone with QuickPWN or Pwnagetool . Unlocked iphone can be used with any carrier . Pwnagetool is Windows only ,QuickPWN 3.0 is available for Mac and Windows .

Hacking Trick For Mobiles Via Bluetooth Through Linux..



The hardware which provides Bluetooth connectivity on the PC is a small device called a `USB-Bluetooth dongle' which you can plug onto a spare USB port of your machine. I approached the local electronics dealer asking him for such a device and got one which didn't even have the manufacturer's name printed on it. The driver CD which came with it of course contained only Windows software. I plugged the device on and booted my system running Fedora Core 3 - bluetooth service was started manually by executing:

sh /etc/init.d/bluetooth start

Here is the output I obtained when the command `hciconfig' ( which is similar to the `ifconfig' command used to configure TCP/IP network interfaces) was executed:

My no-name USB-Bluetooth dongle has been detected and configured properly! The number 00:11:B1:07:A2:B5 is the Bluetooth address of the device.
Detecting the mobile

The next step is to check whether Linux is able to sense the proximity of the mobile. If your phone has bluetooth disabled, enable it and run the following command (on the Linux machine):

hcitool scan

Here is the output obtained on my machine:

The `BlueZ' protocol stack running on my GNU/Linux box has `discovered' the Nokia N-Gage sitting nearby and printed its Bluetooth address as well the name which was assigned to it, `Dijkstra'.
Pairing the mobile

For security reasons, some interactions with the mobile require that the device is `paired' with the one it is interacting with. First, store a number (4 or more digits) in the file /etc/bluetooth/pin (say 12345). Stop and restart the bluetooth service by doing:

sh /etc/init.d/bluetooth stop
sh /etc/init.d/bluetooth start

Now initiate a `pairing' action on the mobile (the phone manual will tell you how this is done). The software on the phone will detect the presence of the Bluetooth-enabled Linux machine and ask for a code - you should enter the very same number which you have stored in /etc/bluetooth/pin on the PC - the pairing process will succeed.
Transferring files

Files can be transferred to/from the Linux machine using a high level protocol called OBEX (standing for OBjectEXchange, originally designed for Infrared links). First, you have to find out whether the mobile supports OBEX based message transfer. Try running the following command on the Linux machine (the number is the bluetooth address of the phone):

sdptool browse 00:0E:6D:9A:57:48

You might get voluminous output - here is part of what I got:

OBEX is built on top a lower-level protocol called RFCOMM. The `Object Push' service uses RFCOMM `channel' 9. Let's try to upload a file to the phone; run the following command on the Linux machine:

The phone will respond by asking you whether to accept the message coming over the bluetooth link. The same command, invoked without any option, can be used to receive files sent from the mobile over the bluetooth link (read the corresponding `man' page for more details).

Unlimited Free SMS Storage...For Sony Ericson Only

Here is a simple way on how to increase SMS storage capacity for Sony Ericsson phones, using Far Manager.

TESTED ON: K500, K700, K750, W800, Z520
Might work on some other phones too. Does not work on W810.

HOW TO DO THIS USING XS++

Connect your phone using Far Manager, in the normal way, entering the FS
Open the location /ifs/settings/messaging and copy the file pref_store.txt to your computer (and make another backup copy of it on your comp)
Now open the file in Notepad and replace the only line there: /smsdata with /tpa and save it.
Now delete the original file from your phone, and put this edited file instead.
Now browse back and open the tpa folder and create the following directory structure:

/tpa/messaging
/tpa/messaging/sms
/tpa/messaging/sms/msg
/tpa/messaging/sms/FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
/tpa/messaging/sms/FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF/pending
/tpa/messaging/sms/FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF/sm
/tpa/messaging/sms/FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF/sr
/tpa/system/messaging/sms

Some folders would be already present, but make sure the directories look the above (copy those FFFs from above and paste them while giving a name to the new folders you create to avoid errors)

Done -- now unpatch your main if its required for your phone and then restart the phone.

You can now store as many SMSes as you like
HOWEVER, in practice you can only store about 1000 messages, beyond that number and the inbox access becomes painfully slow. In theory you can store 40000 or more.

Enhanced Full Rate Codec (EFR)


Enhanced Full Rate will give you much better sound quality when you enable it. The new Enhanced Full Rate CODEC adopted by GSM uses the ASELP (AlgebraicCode Excitation Linear Prediction) compression technology. This technology allows for much great voice quality in the same number of bits as the older Full Rate CODEC. The older technology was called LPC-RPE (Linear Prediction Coding with Regular Pulse Excitation). Both operate at 13 kilobits.(but you take up more space on the network, so they can charge you more)

How to open lock 1 and 4?

You will need Winlock software and MBUS cable to do this. Winlock is a Nokia service program that you can use to open lock 1 and 4, really you are closing locks when you do that, but when you write ????? at MCC+MNC and MSIN text box, the phone don t understand it and consider that it s open.

That trick only works for lock 1 and 4, but not for lock 2 and 3. If you did not know your lock type, please read our miscellaneous tips page first. or read at above section in this page.

Install winlock 1.10
Connect your MBUS nokia data cable
Run Winlock
Push Read Phone, if you have Lock 2 or Lock 3 closed you can not open your phone, but you can try change Lock 2.
Select State Close in Lock 1 and Lock 4, fill out MCC+MNC and MSIN text boxes with ??????? and Push Close Locks.
Now you can use any operator card in your phone. If you get any error when you do that do the following steps:
